Consultation to Develop a Programmatic Agreement with the State Historic Preservation Officer for the Management of Historic Properties for Multiple Undertakings in the State of Colorado

At the request of the Colorado State Historic Preservation and the Colorado Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety, OSMRE is consulting to develop a programmatic agreement. The programmatic agreement would outline the consultation process with the State Historic Preservation Officer for management of historic properties when planning for coal mining and conducting abandoned mine land reclamation within the State of Colorado. These types of undertakings have the potential to affect historic properties and when affected, OSMRE is obligated to resolve adverse effects. Pursuant to the National Historic Preservation Act, OSMRE seeks public comment and input for the development of procedures in a programmatic agreement. To request more information or provide comments, please email Jeremy Iliff at jiliff@osmre.gov.
