The Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSMRE) is required by regulation 30 CFR 780.21(g) to complete a Cumulative Hydrologic Impact Assessment (CHIA) for proposed mining operations. A CHIA assesses whether the mining operation has been designed to prevent material damage to the hydrologic balance outside the permit area.
Westoremoreland Resources, Inc. submitted a permit renewal application to the Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSMRE), Casper Area Office. This permit renewal does not contain any changes to the currently approved OSMRE Peremit No. MT-0021A.
